This role is a 6 month FTC

⭐Our User Research team

We are currently a team of 23 with 18 individual contributors, who are embedded into collectives i.e Core Banking, Business Banking etc, working cross functionally with our Product Design, Product Management and Engineering teams. Our organisation is led by Katherine Vaughan and Hayley Camille Morgan, our Directors of Research.

🔑You’ll play a key role by...

  • Planning and running qualitative studies, including field observations and interviews, diary studies remote and in-person concept testing and usability studies for existing and future products
  • Developing and delivering an international payments product strategy, focusing on customer needs, market opportunities, and differentiation.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders (product, leadership, finance, marketing, legal, etc.) to gain alignment and support.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Researchers to plan high-impact research that improves customer understanding and product development.

  • Work with analytics to integrate qualitative insights with quantitative data and perform basic quantitative analysis.
  • Mentoring Product Managers and Designers in running lightweight research.
  • Communicate research findings through presentations, reports, and workshops to inform business decisions.
  • Identifying actionable insights through quantitative methods such as large scale surveys, and use basic statistical concepts to ensure findings are robust

  • Working  with other researchers to connect the dots across multiple teams and product areas

🤩We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You have hands-on experience with exploratory and evaluative quantitative research methods, knowing when to apply them.
  • You've worked in multidisciplinary teams, leading research and making an impact on product direction, especially in payments.
  • You're adept at user testing across various settings, whether in a lab, on the street, or remotely. Experience with mobile platforms (iOS and Android) is a plus, as we’re a mobile-only bank.
  • You balance robust research design with practical business constraints, understanding "just enough research."
  • You’re strong communicator and facilitator, you tell compelling stories and zoom into details when needed.
  • Collaboration is key to your success, and you're flexible in tackling challenges, delivering memorable and impactful results. You’re also familiar with how research shapes metrics and drives success.
