Job Title:  Director of People and Culture

Position Overview: 

Precise is looking for a Director of People and Culture to serve as the Champion for promoting the company’s intentional culture, to direct, organize, plan, and develop the implementation and administration of human resources functions, and to carry out policies and procedures relating to all phases of human resources activities. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the Director will oversee activities relating to People and Culture and serve as a conduit for the relationship and cultural aspects of the Company; will oversee talent acquisition activities meeting clearly established metrics; will work with all company human resources activities including performance management, pay and benefits administration, and policy development; will oversee the Business Partner function that will support day-to-day activity related to People and Culture on behalf of the Company.

This is a remote position within the greater Rockville, MD area. Candidates must be within a commutable distance. 

Prior experience at a government contractor company is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify, foster, and advance the Precise intentional culture 
  • Conducts wage surveys within the labor market and leads the development of complete compensation plan and rates for the company.
  • Directs new employee orientation to foster understanding of company policies and procedures and buy-in to company mission and core values.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the company’s human resources information system vendor ADP and manages related human resources reporting.
  • Maintains records of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel transactions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Directs the company’s performance programs.
  • Leads the company’s efforts to achieve “best place to work” status.
  • Provides guidance and recommendations for personnel problem resolution.
  • Recommends and implements procedures to reduce employee turnover.
  • Evaluates human relations and work-related problems and meets with supervisors, managers, and executives to determine effective remediation techniques, such as job skill training or personal intervention, to resolve performance and human relations issues among personnel.
  • Responsible for training to instruct establishment managers, supervisors, and workers in human relation skills, such as supervisory skills, conflict resolution skills, interpersonal communication skills, and effective group interaction skills.
  • Delivers supervisor training to new Precise supervisors and annual supervisor refresher training for all existing Precise supervisors.
  • Prepares budget for human resources operations.
  • Oversees benefits management (incl. employee enrollment and termination of health and other benefits, 401K, administration of H1B work authorizations, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field desirable, or equivalent number of years of experience managing human resources.
  • 6-12 years of experience managing human resources functions for a small to mid-sized company, including experience supervising support staff.
  • Demonstrated clear written and verbal communication and attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Internal and external customer focus
  • Demonstrated sense of integrity and fair dealing with all aspects of People and Culture
  • Federal government contracting company experience is required.
