Your missions

Overview

Are you a seasoned actuary with strategic thinking skills and a passion for leading innovative financial analysis? This role will be essential in developing reserves, analyzing financial results, and supporting new product lines, ultimately shaping the financial strategy of our Cayman entity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Analysis: Lead the development of reserves and related analyses for financial reporting, including statutory filings, GAAP, tax, capital, management reporting, and ROE forecasting.
  • Product Integration: Incorporate new annuity and life products into broader actuarial financial reporting processes, assisting with regulatory valuations in the Cayman Islands.
  • Development & Pricing: Oversee the development and pricing of Cayman reinsurance products from concept through to implementation.
  • Model Expertise: Serve as the offshore/institutional expert on Corporate AXIS models, providing technical support and training to stakeholders and collaborating on model enhancements for valuation, pricing, ALM, and planning.
  • Capital Management: Manage offshore capital strategy and support, including US-RBC, Cayman regulatory reporting, and internal capital projections.
  • Valuation Support: Maintain and review models, manage changes, and support valuation processes, potentially serving as an approved actuary for the Cayman entity.
  • Integration & Efficiency: Improve model integration, efficiency, and governance while supporting documentation, controls, and corporate governance.
  • Strategy Assistance: Contribute to the overall capital strategy in support of offshore operations.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. ASA and MAAA certifications required; FSA preferred. Minimum of 15 years of actuarial experience, with at least 5 years in modeling and insurance/reinsurance roles.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in modeling processes (valuation, pricing, ALM, etc.), with knowledge of GGY AXIS or similar actuarial software preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities: Strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in reinsurance, statutory risk transfer, and accounting (US-Stat & GAAP) is essential. Ability to work independently as well as in a team, with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
