Description

Are you ready to take your actuarial career to the next level? Join our dynamic Actuarial team as an Actuarial Analyst II! In this role, you will support experience monitoring, trending, and forecasting processes for various Affordable Care Act (ACA) markets. You will partner closely with our Utilization Management team to provide valuable insights into utilization patterns across our ACA book of business. Your work will include overseeing the monitoring and modeling of member-focused programs for both concurrent and prospective forecasting. Additionally, you’ll help identify risks against our financial plan and will be responsible for comprehensive reporting that connects data insights with teams across the organization. We also offer a study program for all Actuaries pursuing their exams.

Work Location

We offer a flexible work environment that allows you to feel connected to your team and our mission. If you’re located within commuting distance of our New York City office (Hudson Square), Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or Los Angeles office (Marina Del Rey), you’ll be expected to come into the office at least two days per week. Otherwise, this is a remote work-from-home role.

Pay Transparency

  • For California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington: \(72,800 - \)100,100 per year.
  • For all other locations: \(65,520 - \)90,090 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance and maintain core techniques for monitoring and ensure consistency across team users.
  • Contribute significantly to developing and setting trend forecasts for budgeting and pricing.
  • Identify factors influencing utilization variation and use findings to enhance member engagement programs.
  • Provide actuarial insights across cross-functional teams for ACA-compliant Individual and Small Group markets.
  • Promote best practices in actuarial work concerning automation and documentation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in onboarding new analysts and integrating them into existing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or on track to achieve this status.
  • 1+ years of quantitative analysis experience.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with health insurance concepts and nuances.

Final offer amounts are determined by factors such as your skills, education, and experience.
