What You'll Be Doing

In this role, your primary focus will be driving the conversion of $1M in new revenue from new customers, while creating and executing sales growth strategies in our public sector (SLED) and commercial market. Your territory will cover the state of Missouri, where you will:

  • Build and refine territory penetration strategies, continuously analyzing your performance and adjusting tactics to exceed revenue goals.
  • Qualify prospects using internal and external leads based on customer size, spend, and potential, routing opportunities to fellow sales team members when appropriate.
  • Schedule appointments and meet with prospective customers in person to present our values and solutions, using marketing collateral to create engaging presentations that drive prospect engagement and conversion.
  • Attend conferences, tradeshows, and events to represent our company and win new customers.
  • Create and present custom pricing solutions to potential high-growth commercial customers.
  • Leverage education contracts, including Cooperative Purchasing partnerships and bids, to acquire new education customers or drive growth for existing accounts.
  • Ensure a smooth transition to the account management team upon customer commitment.
  • Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly quotas and key metrics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM, including activity logs and sales pipeline.
  • Continuously seek improvement by absorbing feedback from managers and peers and applying it to your work.
  • Make a positive impact on company culture by collaborating well with others, sharing insights, building trust, and leading by example.
  • Work closely with sales leadership and peers to drive revenue beyond traditional office supplies.
  • Champion our company values, services, product features, and benefits.
  • Grow your share of wallet by consolidating business from other vendors, developing customized pricing programs, and building trusted relationships with key accounts.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 4 years of field sales experience.
  • Ability to travel within the Missouri territory for appointments, customer needs, and conferences (approximately 50% travel).
  • This is a remote role, but you must be able to cover the state of Missouri.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months of relevant experience in the public sector market.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven business development experience.
