Virtual K-12 Teacher - New York State Certified

We are currently seeking passionate, experienced teachers to join our team and make a difference in students’ lives through virtual learning. This contract position involves delivering engaging online lessons to K-12 students in a live virtual setting.

What You’ll Do

As a virtual teacher, you'll have the opportunity to plan and deliver creative lessons, working with exceptional learners and tailoring your approach to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). You’ll also adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of diverse learners, ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Instructional Delivery:
• Design and present interactive lessons that align with curriculum standards.
• Use virtual platforms to teach students live (synchronous) or at their own pace (asynchronous).
• Modify instruction to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Provide individual or small group sessions for those needing extra help.
• Student Engagement:
• Create a positive, encouraging online classroom environment.
• Implement strategies that actively engage students using virtual tools and resources.
• Monitor student participation and ensure everyone stays involved in the learning process.
• Assessment & Evaluation:
• Develop assessments to track student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.
• Offer constructive feedback to both students and parents on academic performance.
• Classroom Management:
• Maintain order and set clear expectations for online behavior.
• Ensure a respectful, focused virtual learning environment.
• Technology Integration:
• Incorporate educational technology to enhance student learning.
• Troubleshoot basic tech issues that arise in the virtual classroom.
• Communication & Collaboration:
• Maintain regular communication with parents, students, and fellow educators.
• Work closely with other teachers and specialists to support student success.
• Professional Growth:
• Stay updated on the latest virtual teaching techniques and strategies for working with SEND students.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, including staff meetings and training.
  

What We’re Looking For

• A valid New York teaching certification.
• Bachelor’s degree (Master's degree preferred).
• 1-3 years of teaching experience.
• Ability to submit to a background check.
• A quiet, professional workspace with a computer and high-speed internet.
• Comfort with virtual learning platforms and online tools.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction and curriculum standards.
