Your missions

Description

Are you passionate about ensuring compliance in research and promoting integrity? This role involves supporting our Conflict of Interest (COI) and Research Integrity programs. It's an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, navigating regulations, and collaborating with diverse teams to maintain ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate annual and ad hoc faculty COI reporting and disclosure processes.
  • Review potential conflicts of interest and conflicts of commitment.
  • Support the Conflict of Interest Review Board (COIRB) by recording meeting minutes and monitoring conflict management plans.
  • Stay informed on current COI regulations and assist in developing new policies, educational materials, and training sessions.
  • Provide guidance to faculty and researchers on proposed outside activities and their potential impact on COI policies.
  • Present COI cases to a faculty committee and give presentations on conflict of interest regulations and policies.
  • Collaborate with other university offices to manage non-research related conflicts.
  • Assist with the Research Integrity program, including supporting Research Misconduct proceedings.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of related experience, especially in an academic setting.
  • Skills:
    • Working knowledge of Conflict of Interest regulations and policies.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when conveying complex regulatory requirements.
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with specialized software (e.g., InfoEd, Huron) is a plus.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
