Your missions

Clough, as part of a joint venture, is delivering Perdaman Industries’ urea plant, a landmark project for Western Australia. The plant will be the largest in Australia and one of the largest in the world, installing the most sustainable production processes.  The project is expected to generate 2,000 jobs during the construction phase, whilst delivering sustained benefits to the local community through career, training and business opportunities. 

Clough has an exciting opportunity for Senior Estimators to join the team in Perth! In this role you will be responsible for building accurate cost estimates for pre-contract tenders and developing estimates in the form of lump sum, budget estimates and schedule of rates build ups for a diverse portfolio of major construction projects, Engineering Studies, Priced Front-End Engineering Design and Concept Design projects.

Your focus will include: 

  • Developing accurate pricing models from the client or engineering supplied data.

  • Utilising Industry based norms and published data to develop first principle estimates.

  • Producing direct and indirect estimates, including allowances for risk and contingency.

  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers and industry bodies to ensure that new materials, techniques, and methodologies are utilised to provide a cost-effective solution.

  • Working directly with the Project Development team to align the estimate and the methodology.

  • Collaborating with the Planning team to align the estimate and the schedule.

  • Participate in internal Estimate reviews

What you will bring to the team: 

  • 5+ years’ minimum experience in an estimating role (either structural/mechanical/piping or electrical and instrumentation) within the construction / engineering industry.

  • Experience with heavy industrial, oil and gas, or mining projects.

  • Experience with data base estimating packages.

  • Sound organisation and time management skills, in particular working remotely as the role requires interaction with project development teams across Australia.

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
