Role

In this role, you will support business leaders, assisting them to make informed financial decisions relating to their business activities. You will be responsible for the development and timely delivery of various financial reports and the coordination of ad-hoc financial analysis requests. You will play a key role in ensuring organizational success by monitoring the financial performance of assigned business segments and strategic initiatives, in conjunction with corporate financial performance. Taking a consultative approach, you will work with leadership and your assigned lines of business to assist them in achieving corporate objectives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial expertise to the business;
  • Develop customized reports and interfaces from financial and non-financial data sources, including monitoring the financial success of various strategic initiatives;
  • Engage with business units to gather appropriate information required for financial models;
  • Prepare and present summarized results and reports to management;
  • Update financial plans & forecasts with new information (historical & future) for assigned areas of business;
  • Provide financial support for new business opportunities and RFP responses;
  • Gather, analyze and present benchmarking data;
  • Prepare the annual budget for assigned business areas; support the development and presentation of long-term financial projections;
  • Implement changes to current costing systems and processes;
  • Support the financial assessment of business cases as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Completed or nearing completion of CPA Designation; or equivalent experience;
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience in Finance or Accounting;
  • Strong Business and Financial acumen with ability to understand business units and link non-financial information to financial performance;
  • Exceptional collaboration and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization and build/ leverage relationships; 
  • Knowledge of data modeling including common costing practices;
  • Strong technical skills with ability to manage, interpret, and present data using various query tools & databases, including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Power tools (Power BI, Power Query, etc.) 
  • Strong analytical thinker with proven problem-solving capabilities, particularly as they relate to processes and systems;
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt/ lead change;
  • Knowledge of Accounting systems (i.e. Dynamics GP); ability to extract, transform, and utilize data for reporting purposes using various tools; excellent ability to interpret and manage data, both financial and non-financial;
  • English is requirement, written and verbal, to provide services to our customers and communicate with internal stakeholders. Bilingualism in English/ French is considered an asset.
