Job description

Senior Payroll Specialist (Remote) 

 

Strategic Resources, Inc. (SRI) is an international, ISO 9001:2015 Certified, CMMI Level 3 Rated full-service provider with more than 36 years’ experience in the Federal, military, and commercial marketplaces. SRI is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to work alongside other team members of our Accounting Department. 

 

Overview: 

The ideal candidate will team with other SRI payroll staff members and be responsible for collecting, reviewing, and process payroll for SRI employees working in the United States and aboard. This is a full-time position with normal work hours between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p. m., Monday through Friday. During times of increased payroll processes, working extended hours is anticipated. The position is 100% remote. 

 

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

 

• Collects employee time information from timesheets, reviews for accuracy and completeness, and follows up on missing or unapproved timesheets 

• Complies payroll data to process garnishments, leave time, benefit, and statutory deductions 

• Processes periodic payroll per State regulations and transfers funds to employee accounts 

• Sets up new employees and ensures employee information is complete and accurate 

• Maintains the timesheet system including employee and contact information 

• Assists employees with payroll questions and issues 

• Assists employees with timesheet questions and issues 

• Participates in special payroll or accounting projects as assigned 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience working with ADP payroll system
  • Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school in Accounting or Finance
  • Five (5) years of experience processing full cycle payroll in a multi-state environment
  • CPP (Preferred)
  • Experience with Service Contract Act (SCA) 
  • Experience with government contracting time reporting procedures and regulations
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint
  • Knowledge of federal and State payroll and wage laws
  • Must be detailed orientated and able to produce quality work without errors
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to work flexible/extended hours
