DCAA Audit Management Consultant


Location: Remote

BizFirst is assisting our client with the hiring of a highly skilled DCAA Audit Management Consultant to partner with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) in enhancing their audit processes through a business process improvement (BPI) approach. This role is instrumental in improving the financial oversight of government contracts by providing consulting expertise to help streamline audit procedures, optimize efficiencies, and enhance the overall value provided to the Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal entities.

Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with unique skill sets to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation.



What will you do


The ideal candidate will have experience supporting audits within government agencies, particularly with the DCAA, and possess strong consultative and process improvement skills. DCAA certifications and familiarity with DCAA regulations are highly desirable



Responsibilities:


·         Collaborate with DCAA and key stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving audit processes and financial advisory services.

·         Lead business process improvement (BPI) initiatives aimed at enhancing audit efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness.

·         Provide expertise and recommendations on DCAA audit procedures, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations and financial standards.

·         Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for contract audits, focusing on determining allowable, allocable, and reasonable costs.

·         Facilitate feedback sessions with DCAA stakeholders and clients to gather insights and refine audit processes.

·         Prepare and present detailed reports and analysis on audit performance, process improvements, and recommendations to senior management.

·         Serve as a trusted advisor, offering consultative services to address challenges in the audit process and financial oversight.



Requirements:

  • US Citizen with Public Trust or Higher Clearance.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in audit management or financial consulting, with a focus on government agencies and defense contracts.
  • DCAA Knowledge: Strong familiarity with DCAA regulations, incurred cost audits, processes, and audit requirements.
  • Audit Support: Proven experience in supporting DCAA or similar government audits.
  • Demonstrated success in providing consultative services, offering solutions, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate stakeholder engagement and manage relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization.
  • Certifications: DCAA-related certifications preferred (e.g., DCAA Auditor Certification, CPA).


Preferred:

  • Background in Defense or Federal Contracting.
  • Experience with Business Process Reengineering (BPR) or Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DoD financial oversight and contract administration.
