Job description

DGR Systems, a growing premier technology consulting company, is actively seeking a Network Architect experienced in the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise networks to join our highly competent team. The Network Architect will take on a leadership role in designing and architecting cutting-edge enterprise networks while providing crucial support to our networking practice. This is a client-facing role where the person would support the sales team by providing technical expertise during the sales process for customers of all sizes. This includes analyzing the business requirements, demonstrating the recommended solutions, designing a solution to meet those requirements, scoping all aspects of the delivery and creating the proposal that meets the customer needs.

This position requires an individual who is highly motivated, is a self-starter, and is team focused. The right individual has an in-depth knowledge of technical solutions and how they are deployed, is client-focused, and has excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discussions to understand business requirements and translate them into functional specifications such as the creation of Statements of Work (SOW) and Bill of Materials (BOM) for clients.
  • Architect complex designs including firewalls, switches, access points, and other network solutions to meet the needs of customers.
  • Strong understanding of routing protocols and network technologies (e.g., eBGP, iBGP, OSPF, IPSEC, trace route, netflow).
  • Develop and maintain technical deliverables including network assessments, capacity planning, detailed design documents, implementation/test plans configuration templates and scripts.
  • Engage with Delivery team to provide project design and customer requirements to ensure DGR success and customer delight.
  • Conduct proof of concepts at prospective customer sites
  • Communicate constantly with the Sales team to formulate sales strategies, educate on DGR capabilities, and provide technical support in customer engagements
  • Engage in peer review sessions to aid fellow engineers in optimizing the quality of their deliverables.
  • Maintain up-to-date industry certifications.

Requirements

  • Culture fit by having strong internalization of DGR Core Values (listed below).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with network solutions.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with network switches and access points.
  • Experience in the deployment of network and security solutions
  • Professional or Expert level network certification is required. Examples: Cisco CCNP, CCIE Fortinet FCSS (Formerly NSE 6, 7, or 8), Juniper JNCIP-ENT
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN administration and concepts including DHCP, DNS, VLAN's, NAT, wireless technology, and the ability to configure switches required.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining SD-WAN highly desired.
  • In-depth understanding of network engineering, security (endpoint and network firewall) architecture and design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to author and follow defined processes and procedures.
  • Ability to create network diagrams and detailed design and implementation documentation.
  • Ability to architect, design and troubleshoot complex LAN/WAN network solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying multi-site environments with VLAN, MPLS, SSL, IPSEC connection points.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to follow defined methodologies to ensure a successful outcome of engagements.
  • Up-to-date understanding of modern security threats and defense methods.
  • Able to clearly communicate detailed technical concepts in both oral and written formats.
  • Thorough understanding of modern routing and switching technologies including cloud networking concepts.
  • Proven track record in guiding clients through the evaluation and selection of technical solutions to address business requirements in a consultative manner.
  • Must be willing to travel when needed.
