Position Overview
Manages RGA North America Financial Solutions distribution and sales efforts for Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) opportunities from initial triage and prioritization to bidding and implementation process. Works closely with GFS Marketing and Transaction Services unit to execute strategic and marketing plans. Works with U.S. Pensions Business Development team, to foster regular contact and relationships with consultants, brokers, fiduciaries and plan sponsors regarding transaction opportunities, contract negotiation, and transaction management. Seeks and provides appropriate advice and counsel. Positions RGA as the insurer partner of choice in the PRT marketplace by bringing knowledge and application of best practices in areas of pension plan de-risking.
Responsibilities
- Manages RGA North America Financial Solutions distribution and sales efforts for Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) opportunities from initial triage and prioritization to bidding and implementation process.
- Works with U.S. Pensions Business Development team to create strategic marketing plans and gather market intelligence. Analyze PRT market trends in assessing opportunities, support product strategy and enhancement, and build best practices for the business.
- Foster regular contact and relationships with consultants, brokers, fiduciaries and plan sponsors regarding transaction opportunities, contract negotiation, and transaction management.
- Oversees US PRT transaction negotiations.
- Works closely with MTS unit to ensure effective and efficient quoting process
- Demonstrates and utilizes market knowledge and value added where possible and appropriate.
- Positions RGA as the insurer partner of choice in the PRT marketplace by bringing knowledge and application of best practices in areas of pension plan de-risking.
- Partner with RGA corporate functions such as Pricing, Marketing and Transaction Services, Investments, and Legal to build operational processes as well as innovative transactions that meet RGA’s corporate objectives
- 20-30% travel required
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Actuarial Science, Administration., Marketing or related degree, or equivalent related work experience.
- 7-10 years pension consulting, life or health insurance/reinsurance experience
- 2+ years of hands-on transactional experience in US PRT market (e.g. direct carrier, broker, advisor, law firm) and understanding of trends and developments in corporate pension plan de-risking
- Experience and involvement in PRT transactions (as consultant or insurer) including managing RFP process, preparing materials needed to respond to the RFP, negotiating business aspects of legal agreements (such as commitment agreement, group annuity contracts and group annuity certificates), experience with processes and transaction flow related to pricing, investments and pension administration

- Strong computer based technical skills, including MS Office applications

- Ability to implement organizational, divisional, and/or departmental vision and goals that result in achievement
- Very strong relationship building skills, specifically in relation to key external relationships for the business channel;
- Expert ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines
- Ability to make timely and effective decisions
- Strong persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal/external customers to resolve complex, financially significant issues/problems;; works to build consensus with stakeholders
- Industry knowledge of PRT landscape including PRT brokers, advisors, plan sponsors, etc. that will deliver on RGA’s client engagement and product development objectives for the business;
- Ability to travel within the United States, up to 30% of time
- Relocate to St Louis would be welcome

The general pay range for this position is
$100,000 - $150,000 per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles, and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
