Your missions

UPMC's Health Plan is hiring a Business Analyst for its Absence Management Admin team. This is a remote position and open to candidates in the United States. This role is Monday- Friday with regular office hours.

This role will be responsible for quality review of calls, claims and transactions performed by Workpartners Absence Management team, as well as interfacing with leave, disability, vocational and intake teams to meet or exceed service requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively prioritize and complete all assigned tasks.
  • Work with users and developers to identify problems and propose solutions.
  • Identify areas of concern that may compromise client satisfaction.
  • Maintain employee/insured confidentiality.
  • Ability to analyze benefit administration issues to determine the need for and the scope of polices and procedures.
  • Develop administration policies and procedures or business recommendations to ensure uniform, cost effective claims administration practices that comply with the law, plan documents and other company policies.
  • Participate in training programs as available/requested.
  • Openly participate in team meetings, provide ideas and suggestions to ensure client satisfaction, and promote teamwork.
  • Assist other departments during periods of backlogs.
  • Develop and participate in training programs as available/requested.
  • Participate as needed in special projects and other auditing activities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience required.
  • Minimum of two years of general business experience required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in business/industry specialty required.
  • Competent in MS Office and PC skills preferred.
  • Working knowledge of COB (Coordination of Benefits) preferred.
  • Organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
  • Preferences:
    • Strong preference for Mid Level or Basic Excel skills
    • Strong preference for experience with identifying and tracking trends.
    • Leave Management, Case Management, FMLA guidelines experience
    • Experience in Microsoft forms
    • Basic Power Apps and Power Automate skills
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
