About Us

We are a dynamic and growing organization seeking a passionate and driven Controller to lead our financial operations as we continue to expand. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and operations team, managing day-to-day, monthly, and annual accounting functions. You will also be instrumental in developing financial strategies and educating management on key financial topics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting on relevant data.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls and guidelines.
  • Conduct audits and provide information to external auditors to confirm the organization's financial condition.
  • Prepare budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, and making recommendations.
  • Build and maintain supportive relationships with business unit managers, offering financial education and insights to those without a financial background.
  • Act as a trusted representative for the CFO in their absence, addressing issues as they arise.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all financial and client information in compliance with organizational policies and privacy regulations.
  • Serve as a positive role model for staff, families, and clients by upholding high standards of reliability, accuracy, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Foster a positive team environment and contribute to overall morale.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, preferably in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet use, and email communication.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Energetic, positive team player with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Problem-solving abilities and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences and situations.
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position supervises the Staff Accountant.

Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office setting and regularly uses standard office equipment and audiovisual tools.

Physical Demands

The role requires regular communication and the ability to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects. Occasionally, lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary.

Travel

While travel is generally not required, occasional trips to remote sites, training events, or conferences may be necessary.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must successfully pass initial and periodic criminal history, background, and driving record checks.
  • Must adhere to safety protocols, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
