Job description

Ethnic business in the US & Canada region

  • Expanding Ethnic distribution in Asian & International stores in the entire US region.
  • Listing the complete Tata Consumer Products Range (Tea & Coffee, Foods, Capital Foods & Organic India) in ethnic channels.
  • Maintaining Distribution & Distribution network in US & Canada.
  • Managing relationship with all TCPL’s ethnic distributors
  • Developing, executing and managing a logistics plan for expanding the distributor network
  • Demonstrating Strong Command and Control on Sales Fundamentals, for the expansion of ethnic brands across US region.
  • Monitor shipments, depletions, velocity and channel mix, for all foods and beverages brands.
  • Works closely with Supply Chain to optimize forecasting based on accurate marketing and sales trends/plans
  • Monitoring and managing secondary sales (Distributor to Retailer) and distributors inventory
  • Build relations with HQ of key ethnic retailers, conducting and reporting intelligence during regular market visit
  • Building and executing a festival calendar to ensure Trade promotions are effective and growing YoY

Business Development in the US & Canada region

  • On-boarding & Scrutinizing new distributor/ Customer for ethnic US & Canada business.
  • Export pricing monitoring and control of products coming back to US & Canada markets.
  • Implement and monitor marketing programmes in ethnic channels
  • Proven ability to build integrated marketing campaigns for all ethnic Indian brands.
  • Evaluate consumer, customer and competitive trends to inform strategies and business plans, which will aid in expansion of TCPL brands across US region.
  • Develop renovation and go-to-market strategy in partnership with internal and external partners and cross functional team.
  • Crafts marketing and business plans that create long-term competitive advantage.
  • Leads annual development of strategic brand plan by analyzing product, category, consumer, and market dynamics that ensure long-term brand growth
  • Partnering with Distributors to understand New Retailer Requirements (Costs, Supply, etc) and working internally with cross functional partners to execute the placement of all ethnic brands across the grocery stores in US & Canada region. 
  • Analyzing business trends using syndicated and POS data to develop and implement category strategies that grow profit and volume including category direction, new product development recommendations, trade marketing needs, pricing, and distribution strategies.
  • Building strong business relationships with new distributors in order to create a multi-year growth strategy for the business.

Brand promotion and Marketing activities across the US & Canadian region

  • Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitor’s activities for the Indian ethnic brands coming to the US region. 
  • Support Implementation of brand management plans and activities
  • Effectively managing and controlling trade fund budget, partnering with Trade Marketing to develop new Customer/Channel pricing and promotional strategies
  • Proactively partners with Marketing team to build plans that support strategic initiatives (new launches, distribution growth, Brand visibility on shelf, etc.)

Requirements

  • 10+ Years , in US South Asian / Ethnic Business Development
  • Possesses a strong distributor network in the Ethnic channel
  • Proven track record of growing business’ in existing and new customers & channels;
  • Proven experience in bringing new Ethnic brands from launch to success.
  • Ability to identify distribution gaps and findways to fill them.
