Job Summary:

We’re looking for a full-time associate corporate counsel with a focus on corporate and compliance and a broad range of responsibilities, reporting to the Director, Corporate Counsel. You will have a chance to help shape the company’s legal function, build processes and policies, and work collaboratively across the organization at an exciting, fast paced company, taking over the identity verification market.

Job Duties:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks

  • Directly interface with gaming commissions and regulators to obtain necessary gaming licenses  and manage ongoing compliance; serve as a point of contact  in all jurisdictions for gaming by ensuring license applications and renewals are filed in a timely manner and assessing legal and regulatory risk

  • Ensure compliance with various regulatory and compliance matters, including but not limited to gaming, conflicts of interest, OFAC sanctions, anti-bribery and anti-corruption through the development, implementation and monitoring of effective policies and procedures

  • Monitor developments and changes to applicable regulations, legislation as well as business strategy to make appropriate changes and enhancements to the compliance program

  • Ensure governance of all domestic and international subsidiaries remain compliant with local laws and regulations

  • Partner with HR on employment-related legal matters, including but not limited to offers, equity plan administration and separations and review of relevant policies

  • Actively manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, while serving as a reliable and knowledgeable liaison for the legal department

  • Work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with international and domestic laws and regulations.

  • Become a product expert and support various business groups, including sales, product, finance and HR teams

  • Provide support on various projects and day-to-day matters across the legal team, including corporate transactions, commercial contracts, litigation and employment

Job Requirements:
  • 1-4 years of legal experience with an in-house legal department and/or law firm; Fintech and/or gaming licensing experience is a plus

  • JD from an accredited law school and good standing to practice law in the U.S.

  • Strong ethics and integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality over sensitive compliance matters

  • You love being a lawyer, owning your projects, are not afraid to voice your opinion and strive to constantly improve yourself and everything you are involved with

  • You are a problem solver who is not afraid to make decisions under ambiguous circumstances with tight deadlines and quick response time, and work efficiently and independently on multiple projects with competing deadlines

  • Attention to detail and a bias for finding pragmatic solutions to any issues you encounter

  • Experience driving and tracking progress on cross-functional matters

  • You can see the big picture, but also the finer details

  • You can adapt to change in a fast paced, dynamic and demanding environment

  • You can communicate in a professional and respectful manner

Salary Disclosure:
Base salary range: $135,000 - $165,000

This represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on factors including geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other job related factors. Socure's compensation and rewards package for full time roles includes a market competitive salary, equity,  comprehensive benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans or an annual discretionary performance bonus.
