About the department:

The TRM team is a central part of ING’s risk management framework, with primary responsibility for assessing, monitoring, and managing the risk of all financial markets trading books. TRM is independent from the revenue generating divisions and reports to the firm’s Chief Risk Officer.

Responsibilities :

  • Measure, monitor, analyze and report P&L of the trading books daily.
  • Measure, monitor, analyze and report market risk of the trading books daily.
  • Prepare P&L related market commentary as required by internal policies.
  • Provide accurate and timely daily inputs into the consolidated PL reporting tools.
  • Prepare general ledger monthly accounting entries to align PL and balance sheet as required.
  • Ensure that the established controls are followed to present complete and accurate monitoring and reporting of P&L and Risk.
  • Perform monthly price testing procedures.
  • Perform stress testing and analyze results.
  • Perform pro-active risk management by providing analysis and advice to the Financial Markets front-office.
  • Where applicable, analyze and record monthly valuation adjustments as it relates to price uncertainty.
  • Perform key control checks as it relates to the monthly risk control framework to support the internal/external audits and SOX control reporting.
  • Prepare product-specific monthly PL and risk results included in the local parameter review meeting chaired by the finance department.
  • Manage relationships with all relevant stakeholders through collaboration and open communication.
  • Participate and contribute to all relevant special projects and initiatives.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the global team stand-up calls and provide global team support when required.
  • Provide support for local and global regulatory reporting deliverables.
  • Cross train in other related products to provide daily and monthly coverage for other team members as necessary.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or other relevant field of study.
  • 2+ years of relevant working experience in Financial Markets products; equity, bonds, derivatives.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and solid understanding of financial analysis/econometrics.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and control.
  • Proactive towards change improvement and team concept oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and VBA.
  • Basic knowledge in database tools including Access, SQL, and other programming languages including SAS and Python a plus.

Salary Range $110,000-$140,000
