What success looks like in this role:
The service transition testing is a critical phase in the ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) lifecycle, ensuring that new or changed IT services are fit for use and deliver value. We are introducing services or taking over existing services and what we are doing is aligned to the ITIL framework in Service Introduction and Service Transition
The skills required for IT service transition testing encompass technical, analytical, and interpersonal abilities.
The Transition Test Manager is responsible for the project planning, test design and development, and implementation of test procedures, leading testing efforts, collaborating with stakeholders, and managing the transition of services.

You will be successful in this role if you have:
Leadership and Coordination:
The ideal candidate should have experience leading testing activities. This involves coordinating test users, subject matter experts (SMEs), and possibly test engineers.
They’ll need strong communication skills to guide the team effectively.
Project Management Skills:
A generalist with project management (PM) expertise is essential. They’ll oversee the testing process, ensuring it aligns with project goals and timelines.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) will be valuable.
Testing Processes and Methodologies:
Understanding testing processes is crucial. This includes User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT).
UAT focuses on validating the system from an end-user perspective, while ORT ensures ongoing product reliability.
Service Introduction and Transition:
Since you’re introducing or taking over existing services, alignment with the ITIL framework (specifically Service Introduction and Service Transition) is vital.
The candidate should grasp the principles and practices outlined in ITIL.
