Job description

Position Overview

RecruitGo is seeking an SMSF Administrator who will work in a prominent Accounting and Business Advisory Firm known for providing high-quality technical expertise and knowledge. In this role, you will assist in effectively completing client accounting and taxation requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate effectively with the Practice Manager and/or Division Director to ensure efficient management of individual workflow.
  • Strive to meet the workflow priorities outlined in the SMSF Division Workflow Meeting on a weekly basis.
  • Provide support to the company's SMSF Administrator in managing the SMSF: Lodgement Program, YETP, and billing responsibilities.
  • Assist the SMSF Team with workflow-related queries and support the SMSF Administrator in managing the SMSF Division's workflow on time.
  • Communicate progress on individual workflow and address any issues related to client work completion.
  • Prepare SMSF accounts and tax returns that adhere to both taxation and SISA requirements.
  • Handle the preparation of income tax returns for various entity types, offering mentoring as needed.
  • Prepare business and installment activity statements, process periodic data, and compile financial statements, account and investment report reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Aid in analyzing financial statements, reporting on variances, and identifying potential SISA breaches.
  • Manage client information requests via email and liaise with clients on general taxation and business matters.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and financial advisers when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the company's Office Manager to enhance firm templates continually.
  • Contribute to the profitability of the firm and adhere to marketing initiatives outlined in the Client Care Program.
  • Assist in preparing news and articles of interest for clients and the firm's website.
  • Undertake any other projects as assigned

Requirements:
  • Possession of a minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Pursuing membership of CAANZ or CPA is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and development.
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and SMSF reporting.
  • General knowledge and understanding of Australian tax, superannuation, and accounting issues.
  • Ability to review and interpret Australian tax and SISA legislation
  • Proficiency in efficiently gathering, organizing, and summarizing information.
  • Adherence to given budgets and time deadlines.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, seeking assistance when needed.
  • Application of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Assistance with engagement agreements and client onboarding.
  • Commitment to providing value-added client service and technical expertise, delivering timely, quality professional services through a holistic and multidisciplinary approach.
  • Professionalism and the ability to develop team rapport.
  • Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office, Xero, Class, internet, and other software technologies used by the company.
