Technical Account Manager: Electromagnetics and Electronics, Aerospace & Defense

Job Summary

Will serve as the primary technical consultant responsible for increasing usage of Altair Products with focus on Altair EM and Electronics offering with customers and prospects primarily within the Aerospace and Defense Industry vertical.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with account management to increase usage at Aerospace and Defense accounts. Identify and prioritize strategic long- and short-term activities to support account growth.
  • Act as specialist in the use and application of all Altair products with focus on EM and Electronics Solutions.
  • Understanding of antenna design, placement, EMC/EMI, Scattering/RCS, and radar/radio coverage.
  • Analyze technical needs, requirements, and current engineer workflows of customers.
  • Develop relationships and work with customers to qualify opportunities and propose solutions meeting the customer requirements.
  • Be viewed by the customer as their primary point of contact for all technical activities including presales, technical support, consulting, and training.
  • Coordinate pre- and post-sales support for Altair products, including evaluation, benchmarking, proof of concepts, and training in addition to performing some of these tasks within the EM product offering.
  • Work with development teams to ensure customer needs are met and help prioritize and establish business needs for additional functionality.
  • Manage our dedicated EM and E TAMs within the global A&D vertical as team grows. Work very closely with marketing and global AMs and TAMs to prioritize key areas of growth.


Basics

  • A Master's (or Ph.D) in Electrical Engineering or related subject
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • A thorough understanding of electromagnetic concepts is required
  • Ability to collaborate with all levels of technical users and management
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Aptitude for solving engineering problems
  • Willingness to travel
  • US citizenship is required for this position


Preferred

  • Experience in antenna design and EMC/EMI applications
  • Understanding of computational electromagnetic methods is a plus
  • Experience with simulation tools like Feko, CST, HFSS or XFDTD
