Job description

Purpose of the Job

The Senior Brand Merchandise Designer is responsible for developing and executing concepts from creative briefs, adapting artwork and developing compelling creative solutions to a traditionally non-creative subject.

A keen attention to detail, follows brand and legal mandatory guidelines, has a strong knowledge of print and digital specs and can maintain a superior degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

The Senior Brand Merchandise Designer works efficiently, collaborates as needed and at times autonomously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of the branded merchandise space: printing techniques and their limitations on products
  • Production understanding so creative ideas can be achieved in production
  • Product design (not just flocking a logo) to provide bespoke ideas and elevate the range of merchandise - (70% time will be adding a logo)
  • Creator of flip books (elevate the ones we are currently creating to be more like the one I showed you in London)
  • Ability to build a compelling storybook approach to presentations of branded merchandise
  • Understanding of brand guidelines and how to translate a brand’s identity to merchandise
  • Interest in AI and how we can integrate this into branded merch
  • Proactive approach to trend watches around the world
  • Be able to explore the use of colour, typography, illustration, photography, animation and various print and layout
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to present ideas and interact effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control with respect to copy and file production and finishing

Knowledge, Skills + Experience

  • 7+ years of visual merchandise design , c oncept development, file production, comp retouching, typography, experience required
