What you'll Do

Technical Instructional Designer

The Technical Instructional Designer will design, create, deliver and evaluate learning and development programs and services for the CSG Quote & Order product and its solutions.  This role will also have the responsibility of establishing and maintaining learning content for the purpose of training both internal staff and external partners and clients regarding how to use and develop solutions on this product.

  • Develops technical training content utilizing appropriate software, including Oracle UPK, Adobe Captivate, and Microsoft Office products.

  • Review technical documentation, existing course materials, and interview SMEs for the purpose of developing instructional materials.

  • Collaborate with end users to define and identify business procedures and establish content and documentation. Also collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to collect and interpret information.

  • Utilize and updates training materials using CSG Quality and Document Control requirements.

  • Delivers training programs including train-the-trainer operational training for CSG Quote & Order clients, induction training for new CSG staff, and solution development training for partners.

  • Evaluate current training programs for web-based training potential.

  • Design, develop and deliver web content, user guides, and end-user training materials. Deliver blended learning solutions (web-based training, instructor-led training) as necessary.

  • Maintain accuracy of all documentation, including updating content over time to reflect new or changing features in the CSG Quote & Order product.

  • Building and maintaining constructive working relationships, implementing proactive and concise communication, acting as a resource to colleagues, and engaging in collaborative thinking and problem solving while demonstrating CSG’s core competencies and values.

 

Experience

  • 3-5 years related experience as a Technical Instructional Designer

  • Experience in Computer Science, and Telecom Catalog, Order Management, or Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) domains highly desired.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to apply current tools and technologies for cost-effective, convenient, flexible and accessible education.

  • Proficient with eLearning content authoring systems, particularly Adobe Captive, and Oracle UPK.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Expert technical writing/editing skills.

  • Ability to distil complex information into clear, concise text.

  • Ability to apply professional concepts to resolve issues.

  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to consistently adhere to multiple deadlines and frequently changing workload.

  • Ability to work independently, delivering accurate documentation under deadline pressure.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Documentation layout and design skills are a plus. Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in a business environment.
