Strategic Account Manager - Midwest - covering IL, MN, WI, IA, MO, KS, NE, SD, ND.

We are seeking a Strategic Account Manager sales professional who is passionate about improving the lives of patients through precision medicine. The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) will be a part of a high performing team increasing market share of Myriad Women’s Health portfolio. Through C-suite relationships, product education, negotiating contracts, account management, onboarding, and working with internal stakeholders, the SAM will build the Myriad Genetics brand and grow business with large regional and national strategic and influential customers in their region.

Responsibilities


  • Develop and execute account strategies and formulate new, mutually beneficial partnerships with MSO’s, health systems and large practices to address the evolving demands of the marketplace.
  • Sell and close healthcare corporate or system-wide business with administrators, thought leaders, value committees, physician decision makers, and c-suite.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement processes that will support and meet the needs of physicians and their patients.
  • Leverage opportunities, information, and resources that promote proper utilization of molecular diagnostics and genetic testing; this includes developing strategic relationships with professional societies, Key Opinion Leaders, reimbursement professionals, and others who influence and guide healthcare standards of care.
  • Gain a detailed operational knowledge of regional account customers, be adept at understanding the needs of those customers and implementing mutually optimal solutions.
  • Understand strategic goals of company and drive business that will impact regional and business unit goals.
  • Assess levels of risk and develop contingencies for account plan failures.
  • Identify, develop, sell-in, and pull-through commercial propositions that enhance customer and Myriad key performance indicators.
  • Negotiate new contracts and manage existing contracts to optimize and secure Myriad’s position in the region.
  • Work closely with Myriad’s sales, customer service, medical policy specialist, billing, and medical services teams to identify contracting and process improvement opportunities consistent with company objectives.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA helpful
  • 7+ years of proven sales success in biotech or related industry; hospital/diagnostic sales preferred
  • 4+ years of experience as a key account or strategic account manager
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare/hospital and patient-care industry and validated success working with large systems and selling into C-suite
  • Advanced knowledge of hospital and healthcare system reimbursement structures and stakeholders and experience in value-based selling
  • Candidates should have well developed organizational, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong project management skills by prioritizing and leading multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to tailor communication and understand different needs of decision makers
  • Working knowledge and application of HIPAA laws, privacy, and ethics surrounding patient privacy and information
  • Demonstrates values and ethics that support Myriad's mission, goals, and professional code of conduct
  • Ability to resist pressure to compromise corporate values despite pressure to make sales
  • Uses discretion and professionalism as it relates to handling patient and physician information and documentation
  • Track record of demonstrating integrity, even when inconvenient
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets safe and satisfactory criteria per Myriad's motor vehicle driving record policy
