Job description

When you work as a Director of Business Development – Flow Cytometry at KCAS, you get to further our mission by partnering with new and existing customers to help them better understand our bioanalytical and biomarker services, and next generation therapies.  
 
This position is fully remote and will be responsible for developing new business across the continental United States.

In this role, we will rely on you to:
  • Achieve and Exceed revenue and booking targets for the flow cytometry service line 
  • Develop regional and national sales strategies in collaboration with Field Sales, Inside Sales, Strategic Accounts and Scientific Advisor group 
  • Actively prospect flow cytometry opportunities in existing and new accounts, collaboratively and independently 
  • Drive the flow cytometry sales process in collaboration with key internal stake holders 
  • Facilitate relationships with flowcytometry decision makers in collaboration with field sales, strategic accounts and inside sales 
  • Develop the national and regional flow cytometry funnels and maintain necessary funnel and quote volumes 
  • Create and maintain the appropriate funnel mix to ensure revenue and booking attainment 
  • Work with proposals team and sales representatives to generate accurate proposals, create customer pricing strategies focused on growth and profitability 
  • Negotiates potential business opportunities for the company, which is consistent with its long-term sales strategy 
  • Understand the market and identify opportunities for future growth 
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide necessary business updates to sales leadership and internal stake holders 
  • Attend key industry events and shows 
  • Collaborate with marketing to deliver strategic and account-based marketing campaigns 
  • Quarterly co-travel with field sales and SSA (Sr Scientific Advisors) groups 
  • Responsible for the preparation of materials for vendor exhibitions and professional conferences 
  • Work to build a positive awareness of the KCAS brand through participating in professional conferences and through social media efforts  
  • 25-50% domestic travel anticipated 
  • Perform any other duties as required or assigned.  

  • To qualify specifically for this role, you will have:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with at least 5 years of experience in the life sciences industry with 1-3 years in a direct selling role or client management 
  • Experience in bioanalytical services for biologics and/or next generation therapies (cell therapies and gene therapies) considered an advantage for this position; specifically experience with flow cytometry 
  • Previous client-facing interaction required, CRO/CDMO industry experience preferred 
  • Proven ability to set and achieve sales targets and build excellent relationships with new and existing customers 
  • Outstanding communication skills including interpersonal; email; phone calls; PowerPoint; customer presentations, etc. are essential.  
  • Ability to be a self-starter and entrepreneurial as well as to collaborate with internal colleagues 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (MS Project a plus) 
  • Proactive and able to work and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.  
  • Organized, detailed oriented, and a strong ability to solve problems are necessary.
