Job description

For one of our clients, a Houston-based full-service architecture, planning and interior design firm, we are looking for a dynamic and talented Architectural Project Manager with experience in Construction Administration to join their team and create impact. 

 

Purpose of the position

In this role, you will serve as a project manager, overseeing projects, deliverables and deadlines. We are looking for someone who has experience taking institutional projects full cycle and has the knowledge and ability to both create construction documents and oversee construction administration, acting as the liaison between the clients and contractors, ensuring that assigned projects stay on schedule and the contractors on task.

 

On the design side, you will interact with clients, engineers, and internal teammates in the process of producing successful construction documents. On the construction administration side, you will interact with contractors and owners to ensure the contractors’ adherence to quality standards and schedules.

 

Your Responsibility

  • Manage architectural projects or projected related tasks as assigned by management. 
  • Complete timely productions of successful construction documents. 
  • Coordinate with consultants on operations tasks and deliverables. 
  • Oversee allocation of internal resources per project, based on time, schedules, priorities and budget. 
  • Report project statuses, including budgets, resources, contracts and invoicing, to company Leadership on a regular basis.
  • Attend project meetings; prepare and distribute meeting minutes as required by contract.
  • Conduct on-site observations, prepare and distribute reports.
  • Coordinate with the architecture and engineering team to ensure project completion complies with contract documents and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Review contractor’s project drawings, warranties and other post-construction submittals.
  • Coordinate all architectural and consultant activities related to construction contract administration, including process sketches and permit revisions, field observations, reports, change orders and pay requests.
  • Review project submittals and review, coordinate and respond to RFIs.
  • Other related activities include assisting with the development and improvement of the construction administration process with emphasis on efficiency, quality assurance, and project closeout.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Construction Management, or related design field. Master’s degree in architecture is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience working on commercial or institutional projects. 
  • Proficient in REVIT and Microsoft Office 365 Products.
  • Experience with and knowledge of Project Management tools and processes preferred. 
  • Familiarity with production of complex, schematic, design development and construction documents, including construction details is required.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, building materials, and construction methods is required. 
  • Strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with senior management, external client organizations and vendors.
  • Must be quality-minded and self-motivated.
  • Valid Driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
