So what is the role?
As an Embedded Hardware Engineer you will be responsible for the design, improvement, development, and implementation of embedded hardware and sensor systems. The primary focus will be on the hardware aspects, ensuring robust and efficient electronic designs that meet our high standards of quality and performance. This ranges from a pure embedded MCU system to a custom Linux board:
  • Design and develop embedded PCBs, ensuring functionality and reliability.
  • Select and integrate sensors into electronic systems for various applications.
  • Conduct schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Perform prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic circuits and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and specifications.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in electronics and sensor technologies.
  • Document designs, processes, and test results accurately and thoroughly.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Define and conduct tests, including the definition of hardware-in-the-loop testing.
This is the next level you achieve after 6 months:
  • Design and develop at least one embedded PCB.
  • Build and test prototypes of electronic circuits.
  • Implement developed systems into production.
  • Document designs and processes thoroughly.
What you need for this role:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in designing and developing embedded PCBs and sensor systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuit design, and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer).
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and debugging electronic circuits.
  • Familiarity with various sensor types and their applications (e.g., temperature, pressure, motion, optical).
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC considerations in PCB design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
What we deliver on:
  • We want to do great stuff with a great team – this only works with a #nofilter and #nobullshitattitude.
  • Huge opportunity to join early stage and build a company – you work on our common vision, product and values!
  • You are best in class – and are enabled to make best in class decisions.
  • We love working visually and with the end result in mind, then get there by building fast and learning fast.
  • We love humans, we love coffee and working with the coffee community, from farm to cup.
  • Hybrid working - you work remotely, but once a month we meet for 2-4 days in Konstanz, the Alps, or Mallorca.
  • Your home office setup tailored to your workday needs.
  • Fitness programs, childcare subsidies, a home coffee supply, and many more benefits await you.
