ABOUT THE ROLE
This role presents an exceptional opportunity to bring your domain expertise to 3Degrees. You will primarily focus on establishing new senior-level relationships across the region and developing a comprehensive understanding of client sustainability objectives.  You will be able to represent 3Degrees portfolio of climate and renewable energy products and accountable for delivering on an ambitious annual sales plan encompassing  environmental commodities (REGOs, GOs, RGGO, IRECs, TIGRs etc.), carbon offsets and removals and climate and renewable energy advisory services, such as strategy, implementation, procurement and others. Experience with PPAs /VPPA’s is preferred.
This position will be based in Europe and reporting into the Senior Director EMEA, Global Business Solutions.  We have a preference for Central, Southern or Northern Europe.  If you are interested in a hybrid work environment we currently have offices in Norway, Netherlands and the UK with remote teams throughout Europe.  Interested candidates must have recent sales experience and professional networks.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Develop strategy and accounts across Europe within target industry verticals 
  • Create and manage business relationships with key accounts and ensure loyalty through excellent customer service, timely communication and follow up
  • Prepare a monthly analysis on all substantial opportunities in new products or territories, and/or problems and report on performance to forecast objectives
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities using your network, social media sites, research and other sources
  • Generate leads through direct prospecting and business development efforts, including attending regional or national conferences
  • Actively listen to and engage prospects, identifying needs, providing sustainability and renewable energy education and guide to a solution that best meets the needs communicated
  • Manage a complex sales cycle from prospect identification through contract completion, ensuring accuracy in communication and documentation throughout the process
  • Work cross-functionally, collaborating with various internal partners to ensure best-fit solutions and service excellence
  • Deliver accurate, up-to-date sales forecasts and activity tracking in Salesforce
  • Proactively contribute to continuous improvement, providing input on 3Degrees products, marketing strategies, sales improvements and team collaboration
  • Stay abreast of the renewable energy industry, 3Degrees' competitors, new product offerings and pricing through 3Degrees staff, industry publications, webinars, etc.
  • Expected travel approximately 40-60%
ABOUT YOU
You are a seasoned sales professional with a demonstrated track record of sales or business development success with large global and European regional commercial customers.  You possess a deep understanding of the renewable energy and sustainability landscape, coupled with a passion for driving climate action.  You are a proactive individual with a strong desire to assist clients with carbon reduction and/or renewable energy goals. You are someone who effectively prospects and navigates large accounts to identify decision-makers and key influencers, identifies our product and service alignment to meet customer needs and works effectively with an internal team of subject matter experts, driven to please the client. You are excited by an opportunity to scale and build an international business. Collaboration is one of your favorite words! We believe an individual with the following background is well qualified to be successful in this role:
  • Demonstrated experience selling environmental commodities (REGOs, GOs, RGGO, IRECs, TIGRs), carbon offsets, and removals
  • Proven ability to develop and execute sales plans for target industry verticals
  • Experience with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPAs) is preferred
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Fluency in English, with additional European languages being an advantage
HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS
Within 30 Days,
  • Develop a deep understanding of 3Degrees’ business strategy, market position, and competitive landscape within the European region
  • Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, product, and operations teams
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the sales process, CRM tools, and reporting mechanisms
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify key industry trends, challenges, and opportunities across the European landscape in target industry verticals
  • Develop a preliminary sales execution plan tailored to specific industry verticals within the European market
Within 90 Days,
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, challenges, and opportunities within target industry verticals to inform the development of tailored market penetration strategies, including target account identification and sales approaches
  • Develop a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities within target industry verticals  and successfully manage initial corporate client meetings.
  • Establish a strong presence in the European market through networking and relationship building
  • Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to prospecting, pipeline development, and sales activity including launching initial sales campaigns and generate a qualified pipeline of opportunities
Within 6 months,
  • Achieve initial sales quota and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) related to prospecting, pipeline development, and sales activity
  • Successfully close first deals and expand customer base within target industry verticals and effectively represent 3Degrees products and services
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and challenges within target industry verticals to inform the development of tailored value propositions
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences
Within 1 year,
  • Consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas and achieve revenue targets
  • Expand customer base and become a trusted advisor to key accounts and expand market share within target industry verticals
  • Develop and execute a long-term growth strategy, positioning the company as a thought leader in sustainability and renewable energy solutions within targeted European industry verticals
  • Successfully create high-level contacts at assigned organizations. Be a market and subject matter expert in EACs and Power Purchase Agreements in Europe
  • Demonstrate leadership and mentorship capabilities by coaching and developing associate sales team  members
