Job description

Overview:

The ABAP Consultant plays a crucial role in the development, customization, and maintenance of SAP applications and systems using the Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) language. They are instrumental in improving business processes, implementing technical solutions, and providing support to end users in the utilization of SAP technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand business requirements and objectives.
Design, develop, and implement ABAP programs to enhance SAP functionalities.
Perform code reviews and debugging to ensure optimal system performance.
Customize SAP modules and integrate with external systems as needed.
Conduct unit testing and support system testing and end-user acceptance testing.
Provide technical guidance and support for data migration and system integration tasks.
Participate in the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
Work closely with functional analysts to ensure alignment between technical solutions and business requirements.
Collaborate with the project team to deliver high-quality solutions within project timelines.
Proactively identify and solve technical issues and provide ongoing support for SAP applications.
Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and provide training to end users and support teams.
Document technical specifications, user guides, and system configurations.
Adhere to best practices and standards for ABAP development and SAP implementation.
Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and industry trends.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in ABAP programming within SAP environments.
Proficiency in SAP modules such as SD, MM, FI, and CO.
Experience in debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of ABAP programs.
Strong understanding of SAP data structures, data dictionaries, and data migration techniques.
Knowledge of SAP integration technologies and interfaces.
Ability to analyze business processes and translate them into technical requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
Experience in guiding and mentoring junior team members is a plus.
Certifications in SAP ABAP development or related areas are desirable.
Understanding of SAP HANA and cloud-based technologies is a bonus.
Adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced consulting environment.
