Customer facing staff responsible for winning business Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. There is moderate autonomy within the role to enter into/execute Commercial arrangements. High levels of Commercial judgement are required to achieve outcomes required.

  • To develop, manage and grow the HVDC business within GE Grid Solution and to capture specific market requirements in relation to products and solutions and feed any portfolio gaps into the PL accordingly.
  • To identify and fully understand the routes to market and our competition and to share internally the commercial strategies and key challenges of the projects and our customer base.
  • To support the commercial team in the region with potential customers such as utilities and developers to present and support their technical needs and requirements to promote GE’s HVDC Solutions.
  • Provide first level technical support in presentations and material submissions (with support of the Product Development Group (PDG) as necessary to clients. To support tendering activity to execute solutions in accordance with customer needs.
  • Establish and maintain adequate reliable market intelligence network in North America including Projects, Competitor Activities & New Opportunities. Use this understanding to formulate winning strategies.
  • Selects and develops relationships conducive to the placement of business with, prospective Clients, either directly or indirectly via Key Account Managers, Region Commercial Business Leader, or Region Capture Team Leader.
  • Establish the capability to offer prospective Clients complete financial commercial and technical solutions, together with the operational economic evaluation of those solutions.
  • Recognize the need for, and seek to establish, strategic partnerships with other product disciplines, local suppliers, consultants, etc., which add value to our HVDC Systems offering.
  • As appropriate, in conjunction with regional Commercial Team, follow Client relationships through to bid negotiation and contract award.
  • Participation in organization and management of promotional and exhibition events, including preparation of conference papers.

For target projects:

  • Formulation and management of strategy
  • Identification and cultivation of key decision-maker relationships
  • Preparation and submission of proposals, budgetary information and other documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a comparable degree from an accredited university or college.
  • 10 years experience in HVDC and its market , product knowledge is essential

Desired:

  • Significant & relevant experience in sales, commercial operations, risk, or marketing
  • Effective oral and written communication in both English and German
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to direct complex daily activity of multiple work streams, focused on issue resolution.
  • A good understanding of contract management principles, the ability to manipulate and "shape" deals and formulate.
  • Ability to form relationships that facilitates viable client solutions.

The salary range for this position is 166,400.00 - 221,900.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus. 166,400.00 - 221,900.00 - 277,300.00 USD Annual
