JOB SUMMARY: The Transportation Solutions/Sales Specialist - Food Grade Tanker oversees the sales process for our new division of Food Grade Tanker transportation, which will haul perishable liquid (milk) and dry bulk products. This position focuses on farming out current customers needing transportation solutions to carry perishable freight between production phases and generating new business in this highly specialized space. 

This is a REMOTE position with potential travel up to 50% 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

Key Responsibilities  

General: 

  • Develop and implement sales strategies for the Food Grade Tanker division, focusing on both existing customers and new business opportunities. 

  • Oversee the sales process from prospecting to closing, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention. 

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure seamless service delivery and address any customer issues. 

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and threats. 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders. 

  • Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management. 

  • Participate in industry events and trade shows to promote Stevens Transport's Food Grade Tanker services.  

Team Management: 

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to the supporting team. 

  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates and address any concerns. 

  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment. 

Compliance & Reporting: 

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations. 

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all sales activities. 

  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance and team metrics. 

  • Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. 

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in sales, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry. 

  • Strong knowledge of sales principles and practices. 

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. 

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in the Food Grade Tanker transportation industry. 

  • Familiarity with the transportation industry and tanker services.
