Your missions

The Manager of Solution Development is a key member of Workiva's Growth Solution team. The Growth Solutions team helps create innovative solutions on the Workiva platform that drive commercial growth and customer satisfaction. This team focuses on exploring new markets, designing and refining solutions, and establishing best practices for incubated solutions at Workiva.

As the Manager of Solution Development, you’ll lead a team of Solution Development Consultants and provide guidance based on organizational goals and initiatives. Your role will balance leadership responsibilities with influencing the incubation and development of new customer solutions - taking into account customer and market demands.

In addition to leading the team, the Manager of Solution Development is considered an experienced technologist. You’ll collaborate with leaders in the growth department and other peers across the organization to achieve shared solution development and adoption goals - ultimately driving growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Align team strategy to overall Growth team goals and drives their performance

  • Ensure clear prioritization of focus areas and activities that are aligned to our (cross-functional) stakeholders' objectives

  • Manages team performance and drive accountability - ensure high performance and timely delivery of quality outputs by the team

  • Engages in strategic Pre-sales engagements with customers - gathering data driven insights on customer needs

  • Engage directly with strategic external partners in early and incubating solutions to learn and support them

  • Define effective partner enablement strategies and ensure adoption of our recommended delivery framework and ensure the success of customers

  • Works directly with Workiva services, customer success and partner experience peers and management - align on communication/enablement strategy and execution for the new solution(s) and ensure the services team is fully supported to successfully deliver the solution as designed and that their feedback and learnings are taken into account by Growth Solutions cross-functionally

  • Works directly with our Product teams to prioritize critical product functionality - providing client insights and data to provide data-driven support for prioritization of Product roadmap activities

  • Maintains knowledge of Workiva's latest technology as well as processes related to the solution in incubation

  • Coach and develops team to ensure a growth mindset problem solving, taking calculated risks, willingness to overcome challenges and maintaining a supportive team culture

What You’ll Need 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of related experience in a client-facing role in software implementation, service delivery management consulting or similar

  • 2+ years of team leadership and people management experience

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent years of career knowledge and experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with analytics and reporting solutions (financial and/or non-financial) and their related technology platforms

  • Hands on experience within the complex software platforms, SaaS and cloud technologies, or data architectures 

  • Experience working with external Implementation Partners

  • Enhanced technology knowledge of the Microsoft Office and Google Workspace 

  • Familiarity with SQL, JSON, REST, or Python is a plus

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Excellent presentation skills - ability to present topics clearly and succinctly to various audiences - both internally and externally

  • Self-motivated with strong propensity for action, results and continuous improvement

  • Capable of developing, training, and mentoring others within the organization

  • Ability to influence and drive change in business processes

  • Intellectual curiosity to positively impact the ability to manage multiple projects, programs, and processes

  • Demonstrated ability to curate and maintain customer-first relationships

Travel Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Up to 25% travel for customer and internal meetings

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office
