University of the Cumberlands actively seeks adjunct faculty members in the School of CIS who can provide practical instruction in an engaging learning environment and enhance the learning experience of our students. The Adjunct Faculty is responsible for teaching courses of the highest quality through University of the Cumberlands Blackboard environment.

We are also seeking experienced scholars with an emphasis on doctoral candidates’ dissertation development within the School of CIS, and with the support of the Graduate School.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching in both the Executive and Online formats
  • Directing quantitative, qualitative, and applied science dissertations
  • Dissertation committee service as chair, “reader,” and mentor
  • Adherence to University and School of CIS policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively and successfully with colleagues and other university faculty members
  • Other duties as may be assigned 

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum qualifications include Ph.D. or similar terminal degree (e.g., D.Sc.) in information technologies
  • Quantitative and Qualitative publication experience
  • Values consistent with the Mission of the School and University
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Compassion and empathy
  • Ability to provide and accept constructive feedback in a professional manner
  • Proof of ability to work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Successful teaching experience at the graduate level
  • Experience in teaching in an online environment
  • Record of professional and scholarly productivity
  • Experience serving on dissertation committees surrounding quantitative, qualitative, and applied science projects
  • Experience teaching research methods and/or statistics
