Investment Services Private Markets

We manage deal structuring, due diligence and closing. We provide financial operations to GIC’s private equity, infrastructure, and real estate assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting.

 

Finance & Accounting

You will help to provide financial deal due diligence, financial controllership, treasury and funding, valuation management, investment operations, accounting, financial reporting, and special purpose vehicle management for GIC’s investments.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that provides investment services on private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and cross-strategy investments.

 

What will you do as an AVP in the Valuations team?

  • Assist with reviewing valuations models for the Private Market assets
  • Identify key valuation drivers and assist in establishing valuation risk monitoring frameworks
  • Handle analysis of valuation-related information including reviewing financial statements, credit reports and cash flow models
  • Assist with the review and improve of valuation procedures for Private Market assets in accordance of the firm-wide valuation policy
  • Ensure there are consistent methodologies and efficient processes in place for valuations of Private Market assets with proper documentation
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders on all valuation related matters within the Private Market investments including financial control, risk and external auditors
  • Manage and handle valuations control and the monthly/ quarterly/ annual valuation process review for the Private Market assets portfolio
  • Assisting external valuation advisers with the performance of the external valuation process including collation of underlying financial data from investment managers
  • Assisting with the review and challenge of externally performed valuations
  • Review transactions, accounting, audit and management reporting for investment assets and holding companies, in the valuation areas
  • Management and delivery of various items of project work

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • Strong academic background in Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Financial Engineering, Statistics or a related field
  • At least 4-8 years of experience in credit valuations, preferably in private market investment valuation/risk management
  • Strong experience analyzing financial statements and cash flow modelling
  • Ability to review valuation methodologies
  • Experience with illiquid assets
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communications, analytical and IT skills
  • Keen to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced work environment
  • Being an independent and self-directed person, able to manage tasks effectively and complete tasks within agreed timelines
  • CFA, FRM or other relevant professional certification is a plus
