Job description

About Donorbox

Donorbox is a leading fundraising platform and donor management system for nonprofit organizations. Our mission is to accelerate positive impact worldwide by helping nonprofits become highly effective at raising funds and managing their supporter base. Since 2014, we have powered more than 80,000 global organizations to raise over $2B in donations. 🚀

Our fast-growing company is profitable and bootstrapped with a healthy run rate. We have a fully distributed and diverse 110-person team based in 10+ states and 20+ countries.

🏅In 2023, Donorbox achieved the Leader status in Nonprofit and was recognized for Best Functionality & Features in Fundraising by GetApp. We're proud of what we do, and our product reflects it!

The Role

Donorbox is looking for a Product Marketing Specialist to join our Growth and Marketing team. You will be responsible for delivering a compelling product story that drives customer acquisition and engagement. You will work closely with the Director of Product Marketing to develop messaging that sets our products apart from competitors and resonates with our target personas. Your primary focus will be on organizing and managing the feature launch process, ensuring that every product launch is supported by effective marketing efforts. You will also be responsible for managing product communication, including but not limited to blog posts, ad campaigns, and PR efforts.

To succeed in this role, you should be an expert in crafting clear, benefit-driven product messaging that speaks to customer needs and motivations. You should have experience analyzing data to identify opportunities for optimization and growth. Additionally, you should be highly organized and able to manage complex launch processes, working with cross-functional teams to ensure that every launch is executed flawlessly.

Responsibilities
  • Craft messaging: you’ll support the Director of Product Marketing to anchor our entire go-to-market strategy on a bold, consistent product story. You’ll help our growth team pitch against competitors, test marketing messages, define target personas, and get customers excited about any new technology we ship.
  • Organize a feature launch process: if a product never gets marketed, is it ever truly shipped? We need someone to support the entire launch process, from managing the beta to writing the feature announcement post to working with partners for co-marketing to bigger PR efforts.
  • Manage product communication: we’re constantly launching big new features. Whether through blog posts, ad campaigns, collateral, or PR, you’ll communicate our evolving product narrative to existing customers, teammates, and the broader market.
  • Clear product messaging: together with the Product Marketing Director, craft product messaging that sets new products apart from others in the market to give them a unique selling point. Benefit-driven over feature-driven messages.
  • Data analysis and optimization - Conduct thorough analyses of the relevant data to look for opportunities for improvement and identify areas that should be optimized, in order to support our growth objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 4+ years of proven experience as a product marketer
  • Product orientation
  • Strategic thinking about every piece of the larger nonprofit market
  • Experience in market analysis.
  • Developing product positioning
  • Identifying direct competitors and product differentiation.

  • Looking at competitive pricing for go-to-market strategies
  • Working knowledge of web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Beamer, Hotjar, Crazy Egg)
  • Closely work with our growth and product team to ensure a smooth release
  • Clear and authentic communicator, with a healthy disdain for corporate speak
