Job Description

Olympus is seeking an experienced attorney to support legal services for its businesses in Latin America. The qualified candidate will have prior experience in corporate environment and highly regulated market and will be responsible for advising and liaising with regional and global management with respect to all legal transactional matters. The qualified candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting to ensure the company operates in full compliance with all appliable laws and regulations throughout the Latin America Region.

Job Duties
  • Serve as legal advisor for Olympus Latin America, providing advice on a broad range of topics, including commercial transactions, distribution and sales agency, anticorruption practices, healthcare regulations, labor and general legal issues.
  • Partnership with the business to be able to recognize legal risks, advice in advance and collaborate to mitigate it.
  • Provide guidance on risks and best practices related to local and international anticorruption laws.
  • Negotiate and draft a variety of commercial transactions. Provide support in establishing and documenting sales programs and promotions.
  • Maintain active communication with Olympus’ Regional Associate General Counsel about legal issues.
  • Create, adapt, implement, and deliver training on legal matters, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and standards.
  • Manage outside counsel engagements, including budgets and fees.

 

Job Requirements
  • Member of Brazil, Mexico or US bar in good standing required.
  • More than 10 years of legal experience. Prior practice as in-house in multinational company.
  • Experience in highly regulated industry required.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide clear and consistent legal advice.
  • Advanced or fluent in English and Spanish.
