Responsibilities: Testing Turf

  • Analyze user stories and use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility.
  • Collaborate closely with Dev Team members to detect and track software defects/inconsistencies.
  • Document defects in VSTS (Visual Studio Team Services) and work with Development Team Lead/Solutions Architect to ensure developers resolve the issues.
  • Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, Smoke, and Regression).
  • Design, develop, and document test scripts and plans on VSTS (Visual Studio Team Services).
  • Apply quality engineering principles throughout the Agile product lifecycle.
  • Provide support to the business and assist with system documentation.
  • Ensure that software releases from the development team are thoroughly tested before business stakeholders see/test the releases.
  • Test .NET portals and .PHP websites to ensure front-end functionality during release stages.
  • Conduct smoke tests after releases in Dynamics CRM front end to ensure processes are working post-system release.
  • Work within TEST and LIVE environments to ensure systems operate as per specifications.
  • Liaise with third-party companies for software releases to ensure compatibility with supplied software.


Requirements

Qualifications Needed: Skill Set Searchlight

  • 4-year degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Business experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Tester or in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting customer requirements.
  • Strong background in software QA best practices, testing, and validation concepts.
  • Understanding of .Net, PHP, and Javascript programming languages.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is beneficial.
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues during the testing process.
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft SQL skills.
  • Experience working with command-line utilities, remote desktop clients, Windows services, and XML.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
