In this position…

Ford Ion Park is seeking a highly motivated and experienced candidate for a Battery Cell Engineer position within our Value Chain team. The team is composed of Technical Experts, Managers and Quality Engineers who lead different areas of battery Value Chain, R&D, Product Development, Quality and Manufacturing. Responsibilities

What you'll do…

  • Oversee and coordinate the development of projects with battery material suppliers to ensure the technical and quality progress and overall risk is aligned with the sourcing objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise to the cross functional team regarding sourcing of Battery Raw Materials (Lithium, Nickel and others) and Cell Materials.
  • Engage in battery raw materials and cell materials selection and evaluation of materials sources and perform due diligence and supplier technical/quality audit.
  • Support APQP, PPAP and site visits related to raw materials quality and industrialization.
  • Define test plans for materials qualification. Analyze and review Test results for materials qualification.
  • Review and evaluate evolving next generation technologies in materials and processing development.
  • Build relationships among internal and external organizations for effective cross-functional operation.


Qualifications

You'll have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of analyses experience in supply chain, manufacturing or quality, or related experience (Engineering, R&D, etc.).
  • 1+ years of Lithium-Ion Battery materials or related processes
  • Ability to multi-task with cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel.


Even better, you may have…

  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or Engineering, or related fields.
  • 4+ years of industry experience desired. Direct experience with battery materials or battery raw materials (Lithium, Nickel) a plus.
  • Strong analytical background with demonstrated ability to analyze and communicate technical concepts to all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
