About the position:

The Fund Finance (“FF”) team is part of ING Sector Coverage. The FF team covers clients within the investment management industry including alternative asset management firms and financial sponsors, publicly traded investment funds, and private investment vehicles. The team has a primary focus on originating Capital Call, Private Credit, and NAV based transactions.

Responsibilities :

  • New Deal Origination/Execution Support: Support MDs, and Directors in the FF team in the origination and structuring of financing solutions, with an emphasis on capital call and portfolio finance transactions in the North American alternative asset industry. Responsibilities include but are not limited to industry & market analysis; preparing pitches and presentations for new financing opportunities, preparing term sheets, and assisting in capital structuring or M&A transactions in collaboration with the relevant product teams; greenlight memos, credit and written summaries for new lending transactions; preparing or reviewing borrowing base constructs and related sensitivity analyses, reviewing due diligence materials, participation in the credit application process and oversight of junior deal team members work, and assisting in the maintenance of industry and market intelligence databases.
  • Training and coaching of junior team members: the successful candidate is expected to shadow Ds/MDs assuming a deputy oversight role over the deal teams junior member teams

Requisite Skill Set:

  • Expertise in fund finance loan origination and execution with a special emphasis on the North American alternative asset managers;
  • Strong credit skills and understanding of debt capital markets;
  • Strong presentation and oral/written communication skills;
  • Strong modeling skills
  • Committed and dedicated individual who will continuously improve the way the team works and coach/train other team members;
  • Collaborative and able to work effectively across functions and regions; 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities;
  • Self-motivated and willing to work in a deal oriented and deadline driven environment;
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanor.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Math
  • Experience: min 7 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years of fund finance experience in North America
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Series 79/63 or, commitment to obtain within 6-month of joining.

Salary: $180,000 - $230,000
