Role Overview & Key Functions::

We are seeking a talented and experienced marketer to join our team as the Associate Director or Director, HCP Marketing responsible for Healthcare Professional (HCP) Marketing, leading all Peer-to-peer activities and responsible for KOL Engagement and congress strategy and execution.  The selected individual will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of several key marketing programs critical to the success of the XPOVIO brand in hematology.  This team member will be an integral part of the marketing team, and will work closely with Sales Leadership, Sales Training, Medical Affairs, Legal, and Regulatory to develop, execute, and measure ROI of HCP tactics.  This position requires a highly motivated individual who can influence without authority in leading and partnering with colleagues from other functions and has a high degree of flexibility and creative problem-solving.  

 

Working closely with our VP of Marketing, you will positively impact patients’ when you:

  • Lead the peer-to-peer channel for the brand, including speaker bureau content development and speaker bureau faculty engagement
  • Seek and partner with third-party educational platforms where the brand team can gather physician insights or sponsor educational programs through media placement, or both
  • Work cross-functionally to create and execute a comprehensive KOL Engagement plan on an ongoing basis
  • Initiate, lead, and drive marketing work projects/tactics/resources, including direction and day-to-day management of multiple agency partners and vendors
  • Maintain and refine existing, and lead the development of new HCP personal and non-personal marketing tactics, programs, and initiatives
  • Manage SOWs, POs, contracts and marketing budget / monthly accruals to a high degree of accuracy
  • Work closely with the U.S. sales force to adapt strategies, tools, training, and messages to drive success for U.S. business        
  • Participate in several brand critical initiatives such as but not limited to, brand planning, market research, and message & creative evolution
  • Ensure that all marketing processes, documents, and tactics are developed and implemented in accordance with Karyopharm corporate compliance guidelines
Candidate Profile & Requirements::
  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) and 7+ years pharma/biotech US marketing experience
  • 10+ years of overall experience in the pharma/biotech industry
  • Specialty or hematology/oncology experience preferred including endometrial cancer, myelofibrosis, multiple myeloma or DLBCL.
  • Field sales and/or field sales management experience preferred
  • Proven track record managing the overall operations of a large marketing initiative directly supporting the field sales team
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across functions
  • Track record of applying strong analytical skills – including commercial, financial acumen and budget management – to enhance decision-making
  • Willingness to proactively identify issues and opportunities in the business and make the appropriate recommendations, and/or take the appropriate action to get things done
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast paced, innovative and performance driven environment
  • Knowledge of the Legal and Regulatory environment in pharmaceutical marketing; including Medical/Legal/Regulatory Review Committee process
  • Experience managing vendors and holding them accountable to timelines and project cost estimates
