The Role 

As the Senior Manager, Video Production, you will lead and manage all of SimplePractice’s video production needs and own creative implementation from beginning to end. This role is responsible for bringing the SimplePractice brand to life, while managing the video, motion graphics and image capture team in a way that is consistent with SimplePractice’s brand guidelines, Your job duties will consist of, but not be limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Video Production Strategy and Management:
    • Manage overall structure and growth of the team — includes coaching/mentoring managers & individual contributors, overseeing training of new employees to drive team growth and individual development
    • Create video processes and best practice documents, help educate stakeholders on timing required for video production
    • Create, manage and optimize production budgets and closely monitor project spending to make adjustments based on timeline, schedule changes or changes in scope of work.
    • Partner with internal Marketing and Creative teams to lead the direction and capture of video creative by working cross functionally on video best practices and optimization.
    • Partner closely with Creative Resources to optimize the output of the video and motion graphics team.
    • Ensure that production meets expectations & timelines set by in conjunction with different departments. 
  • Pre-production Planning and Strategy: Manage video and image capture pre-production, owning budgets and scoping production costs and expenditures. Manage video & motion team operations, developing strategies and functions to ensure scalable and repeatable success. Own the completion of all video deliverables, allocating resources ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Accurately scope out production scale on a per-project basis, strategize operations and implement bespoke production workflows. Manage timelines,  shoot schedules, permitting and insurance needs.
    • Collaborate with Creative, Copy, Design and multi-department teams to concept brand, IMC and other marketing campaigns, writing and collaborating on scripts, storyboards, visual and narrative direction.
    • Plan and optimize video strategy that allows for maximized production value, streamlined operations and deliverable effectiveness for recorded, live, in-person and hybrid video capture.
    • Contract, manage and direct outside vendors and production partners, negotiating rates and initiating contracts.
  • Video/Still Production: Serve as lead producer on all video and image capture productions, owning and managing on-set video direction, managing  team members, production partners and outside vendors to ensure the capture of video deliverables and directing the overall vision, creative and brand execution across all video and still capture.
  • Video Editing & Post-Production: Serve as editor and post-production supervisor, editing videos and provide content consistently and efficiently, delivering projects on deadline while maintaining high quality. Governing and handling all media on/offline, proxies, codecs and storage, supervising/handling media through post, color and final mix. Implement a quality control review process to fix editing errors. Maintain the health of a digital asset management system and improve file organization. Oversee the final delivery of video and marketing materials. 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Strong preference to be based in Los Angeles or greater Los Angeles area
  • 8+ years of experience in leading a video production group in an Agency or In-house capacity
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong at codifying video processes/timelines/education
  • A strong eye for visual composition, pacing and storytelling. Ability to handle post production/music/audio editing
  • Experience using AI video/motion tools and staying up to date with new technologies/tools to help increase efficiency of video production
  • The ability to handle multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to effectively take direction and collaborate with creative and art directors, stakeholders, and other members of the team
  • Growth mindset
  • Proficient with industry-standard editing software: Adobe CC (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition) and Davinci Resolve), and project management software (Asana)

 


Base Compensation Range

$130,000 - $150,000 annually

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.

The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
