Accountant (Philippines)

Job Overview: The Accountant will support the Controller with coordinating financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.  Additional responsibilities may include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns.

Rate paid in USD: $6 - $9 USD per hour

Schedule: Graveyard Shift

Key Responsibilities

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, cash flow, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Sets up new accounts and closes the monthly books.
• Provides the Controller assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform internal audit.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Prepares actual vs. budget comparison reports and tracks profitability margins. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks, credit card companies, and credit card processors.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts
• Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field including 3 - 5 year’s work-related experience.
• Must have knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including organizational skills (attention to detail). 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks Online.
• High level of confidentiality and demonstrate integrity
