JOB OVERVIEW:

This role will be responsible for leading a centralized controllership function, which includes accounting, treasury, financial operations, and tax across all entities within the HSG   This role will partner with team members, the Executive Director, Finance HSG and the Executive Director, Non-Core Controllership (NCC) to ensure key goals and standards are in place and used consistently. Responsible for implementing treasury policy and procedures for all HSG business, ensures all treasury activities are done in accordance with best practices. In addition, assess risk with the aim of supporting the business and lead mitigation efforts.  Prepare, and present, key results to the broader HSG Executive Leadership Team. This role will play a key role in building out, communicating, and connecting a strategy for the HSG Controllership function,  including  a resource / talent strategy.   This role will also partner with the Business Development Team and entity controllers to execute the strategy and integration for all acquisitions across HSG.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for driving end to end general ledger close processes for all HSG entities. Includes completeness and accuracy of financials and timeliness of submissions within corporate timelines
  • Responsible for implementing a treasury strategy designed in partnership with corporate treasury and NCC to mitigate risk and drive performance
  • Responsible for developing and driving a HSG tax strategy, including sales tax, which mitigates risk and drives optimal performance
  • Coordinates and monitors internal and external HSG audit engagements.  Responsible for mitigating identified deficiencies.  Escalates material issues to finance leadership
  • Partners with finance leadership to analyze Inventory and related reserves of all HSG businesses, ensuring compliance to US GAAP and HS policy
  • Partners with finance leadership to analyze AR, Aging and related reserves of all HSG businesses, ensuring compliance to US GAAP and HS policy
  • Work with HSG Finance on onboarding acquisitions as it relates to OBS and US GAAP
  • Responsible for maintaining an effective internal control structure along with compliance with SOX, US GAAP and Henry Schein accounting policies
  • Implements appropriate policies, internal controls, and procedures to drive performance in alignment with Henry Schein corporate standards
  • Consults with leadership and managers across finance and the business to ensure alignment on finance and operational processes and provides necessary subject matter expertise
  • Manages an agile team with the focus on team member development, cross-functional skills, allocates / monitors tasks, motivates and retains staff and manages performance
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 

  • Strong accounting and financial knowledge including reporting, policies and procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Independent worker, initiative-taker

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, proficient with Microsoft Suite
  • Strong ability to understand and communicate complex financial concept

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 12 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; 7 or more years of management experience.

                                                                                                                                     

PREFERRED EDUCATION: 

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Accounting. CPA, Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

The posted range for this position is $154,328-$243,067 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.

This position is eligible for a bonus not reflected in the posted range.
