Your missions

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dedicated and forward-thinking Global Chemical Product Management Lead to join our Lab Specialty Products business unit. You will have a leading role in designing and optimizing the company’s lab chemicals portfolio.

This role will be a full-time, remote position (EST time zone preferred).

What we’re looking for  

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Scientific field

  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience including:

  • Biopharma, pharmaceutical or chemical industry

  • Product management is required.

  • People leadership experience is required.

  • Working with customers and cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, procurement, regulatory affairs, and sales is required.

  • Product launch planning is required.

  • Product positioning is required.

  • Strategy development is preferred.

  • Marketing strategy is preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% (internationally)

How you will thrive and create an impact  

  • Lead a team of product managers focused on growing our lab chemicals business.

  • Leads analysis of application/product/customer profitability to determine appropriate pricing levels based on segment, performance, geography, and value created in application.

  • Responsible for life cycle management of self-manufactured lab chemical products

  • Leads benchmark of competitive market landscape to understand Avantor’s market position by product line, workflow, and market segment.

  •  Drives and communicates across the organization deep market understanding, keeping a pulse on industry trends and changes in technologies, competitive landscape, and key market changes, driving actionable insights on opportunities and gaps.

  • Evaluate in-depth market analysis and leads business case for optimization of existing products/solutions alternatives and/or to create the next generation of new products.

  • Provide analysis and evaluation of key market statistics and customer requirements to define product strategies and identify product opportunities to expand market share.

  • Engage potential partnerships that will accelerate the strategy and deliver strong returns.

  • Own key process for margin optimization and asset utilization initiatives

  • Prioritizes organic NPI funnel for lab chemicals and partners with R&D throughout development

  • Work with Strategic Procurement and Supply Chain to secure critical raw materials used in the lab chemicals portfolio
