Job Description

For our Technology & Resource Services (TRS) department based in Nootdorp we are looking for a Reliability & Maintenance Engineer overlooking our Marine Site Characterisation (MSC) business line.

Fugro is the global geodata specialist. To be able to acquire this data, the company depends on viable equipment assets which are being deployed in the most challenging circumstances. Unfortunately this at times also results in damages and failures, which could contribute to significant losses in case not managed well. Since projects are growing, and our systems become more complex, it is time to level-up our vision towards reactive, preventive and predictive maintenance.

In this role you take a leading position towards implementing and safeguarding our Reliability Centered Maintenance strategy. With your excellent analytical mindset and personal approach you manage to create continuous alignment between our internal departments, and at the same time strengthen the success of the department.

Your role

  • You drive the implementation of our new maintenance strategy focusing on reliability of our equipment offering;

  • You play a fundamental role in developing plans for lifecycle management of equipment and the internal organisation of the equipment department, ensuring operational success;

  • You are able to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on complicated equipment failures;

  • You are responsible for drafting Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and failure mode effect & criticality analysis (FMECA) on Fugro’s most commonly used MSC equipment assets;

  • You coordinate adequate follow-up on improvement suggestions/change requests initiated by our operational teams;

  • You collect and assess data on operational downtime, by using analytical models to actualise your improvement plans and to report the impact of your changes;

  • You recognise areas for improvement and address clear suggestions.

What you bring along

  • You have a Bsc degree or higher in a technical discipline;

  • You have relevant experience in reliability engineering (FMECA, RCM and CC analysis), as well as practical problem solving skills in the marine industry;

  • You are in the possession of a data driven mindset, and have a proven track-record in tools like PowerBi, Excel, or Palisade;

  • You are pro-active and have the ability to motivate and pursue colleagues to think along and contribute to the changes being proposed.

What Fugro offers

  • A diverse and inclusive work environment;

  • A competitive salary;

  • 29 holidays per year based on a fulltime employment (of which 4 are appointed by Fugro management) and the possibility to purchase 12 additional days;

  • Extensive career & training opportunities in the field of maintenance management and reliability engineering;

  • Flexible working hours and the ability to work from home in accordance with your manager and corporate policies;

  • Commuting allowance;

  • Modern pension scheme;

  • Collective health insurance;

  • Possibility to register with our corporate fitness plan;

  • Coaching options through our EAP (Employee Assistance Program).
