Job Purpose:
 

The National Sales Associate grows the sales of the TruStage retail investment products.

This position will partner with the wholesaling team and cross-functional teams to provide support for pre- and post-sale activities. Work closely with external and internal wholesalers to enhance their efforts of product distribution through affiliated representatives and external broker dealers.  Collaborate with wholesaling teams and cross-functional teams to recognize trends, resolve systematic issues, and drive procedure improvements.

Employ a consultative selling approach to support retail sales activities including increasing sales and market share objectives in all channels.  Help manage day-to-day activities of the wholesaling team; these include being secondary for all regional inbound phone lines, email requests, providing marketplace feedback and assisting in the building of marketing strategies.  Act as a catalyst to drive sales growth, build market share and meet necessary sales and asset targets for the MI&I products.

****This role is a pre-cursor to the Internal Wholesaler role with assigned RVP's.

Job Responsibilities:
 

  • Provide outbound telephone support; including advising on the availability and appropriate use of TruStage products, literature and sales tools, when applicable at a National level. Help develop and share ideas with investment advisors that increases sales; train on new product releases and enhancements; communicate economic and industry data relevant to the use of products.

  • Document activity through established contact management tools, utilizing contact data to enhance the level of field support and improve decision-making for wholesaler/advisor relationships.

  • Continuously build, maintain, and enhance positive business relationships with investment advisors offering TruStage products, serving as a resource for sales support for all channels and territories.

  • Provide inbound telephone support, including answering product questions; following up on requests for information and proposals; delivering training; and providing timely responses to problems encountered in the field.

  • Serve as a troubleshooter and problem solver for advisors on product and process issues and maintain a strong knowledge of available corporate resources, referring advisors to appropriate areas as necessary to ensure problem resolution.

  • As needed, provide support to the wholesaling team sales efforts by helping conduct Seminar Presentations, WebEx Presentations and Client and Conference events, when appropriate.

  • Maintain and build strong product knowledge, including any related economic, industry and competitor’s information. Build and maintain strong knowledge of the entire TruStage product portfolio. Maintain a solid understanding of back-office processes for the investment advisor, broker/dealer operations, and the service areas, as well as a working knowledge of associated vendor relationships.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing Finance, or related trade off in work experience.

  • Strong knowledge of investment and/or insurance products.

  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam preferred, but not required.

  • FINRA Series 6, 63 or Series 7 licenses, life insurance license and variable insurance license required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Exercise sound judgment and solid decision making for allocating company resources for business development.

  • Highly motivated and able to work independently and perform under pressure.

  • Ability and desire to spend significant portion of job developing relationships over the phone.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Working knowledge of office automation tools; experience with contact management tools a plus.

  • Sales experience in the financial services industry and/or experience dealing with field representatives preferred.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

 

Base Salary Range:

$53,200.00 - $79,800.00
