Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with 340B program regulations as well as HRSA Office and Pharmacy Affairs guidance. 
  • Responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting issues with the 340B software vendors.
  • Reviews and monitors utilization records, 340B purchasing accounts, and contract pharmacy usage to ensure software and tools are working properly and accurately.
  • Monitors and coordinates purchasing records for each cost center where the 340B accounts apply to ensure the GPO exclusion rule is followed, WAC purchases are minimized when allowable.
  • Performs audits to ensure split billing software accumulators are accurate.
  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
  • Responsible for conducting ongoing reviews to assess compliance with organizational policies related to 340B and 340B program requirements. Prepares reports summarizing above reviews, recommendations, corrective actions, and timelines.  Presents results to Supervisor, 340B Compliance as appropriate.
  • Assists in implementing the corrective action plans for the 340B findings as appropriate.
  • Educates others regarding policies and ensures internal compliance with them.
  • Effectively communicates to wholesalers, pharmacists, leaders, and others as needed.
  • Participates in the analysis and interpretation of 340B pricing trends.
  • Prepares program content and presents information related to the 340B program as requested.

Standard Lead Level Responsibilities:

  • Distributes and monitors the flow of work for all employees who work with the 340B Program.  
  • Provides training and technical assistance to employees who work with the 340B Program.  
  • Assists supervisor in assuring that assigned employees are provided with appropriate resources, materials, and methods.  
  • Provides recommendations to director or supervisor for the most efficient utilization of assigned personnel.  
  • Relays work instruction from the supervisor.
  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors.
  • Attends variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.
  • Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.
  • Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Maintains, regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:
Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Pharmacy Technician certification.

                  
Preferred:

  • Apexus Advanced 340B Operations Certification

Experience/Skills:
Required:

  • 3 years of 340B auditing experience.
  • Knowledge of 340B split billing software. 
  • Ability to quickly master new software.
  • Expertise with MS Office. 
  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to identify issues, obtain relevant information, relate and compare data from different sources, and identify alternative solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work and interact with multiple stakeholders.
