Overview:  Chief Medical Officer is responsible for the clinical direction of the organization. The Chief Medical Officer is part of Complex Care Solutions leadership team and a subject matter expert in a diverse area of care delivery and quality arenas such as Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial/ACA and Risk Adjustment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical guidance, support and education to the Product and Operations teams;
  • Actively engage in servicing existing clients through participation in Quarterly Business Reviews, representing Complex Care Solutions position in interactions with client auditors, and direct interaction with clinical leadership where necessary/requested;
  • Actively engage in business development opportunities including presenting Complex Care Solutions clinical capabilities to clients, prospective clients, partners, and prospective partners where necessary/requested;
  • Responsible for review and approval for any clinical policies and procedures;
  • Support Joint Quality Audit performance and delivery;
  • Review and approval of clinical training materials to internal staff, outsourced staff, vendors, and partners;
  • Participate in Quality Oversight Committees for all relevant products;
  • Participate in Compliance and Credentialing Committee;
  • Review and make determinations for clinical resources where credentialing committee support is needed;
  • Participate in senior management business and clinical strategy development and implementation;
  • Build and leverage cross functional collaborative relationships to achieve shared company goals;
  • Serves as a resource for clinical information, identification, provision and maintenance of best practices and evidence-based medicine practices;
  • Represent Complex Care Solutions with external associations and regulatory agencies; and
  • Maintains current certification and submits a copy of certification upon renewal.
  • Maintain compliance with Complex Care Solution’s policies, procedures, and mission statement;
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Complex Care Solutions’ Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data managed or services rendered in the undertaking of the position;
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Complex Care Solutions for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company;
  • Uphold responsibilities relative to the separation of duties for applicable processes and procedures within your job function; and

Job Requirements:

  • Valid medical license;
  • Minimum of 10 years clinical experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years in a management role;
  • Clinical risk management experience;
  • Good organizational skills;
  • Must be science- and data-driven;
  • Must have a results-oriented work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.

Education:

  • A degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited medical school; (Board certification is strongly preferred).

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for extended periods of time);
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.
