JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) in the College of Agricultural Sciences is a dynamic research administration unit committed to excellence. Under the guidance of the Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Education, we are currently seeking a motivated Research Administrator to join our team during a time of exciting change and innovation. As an integral part of our vibrant team, the selected candidate will play a crucial role in our mission to become a model of "best-in-class" by embracing change, fostering continual learning, and driving improvement.

In this position, you will thrive in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment that demands efficiency, attention to detail, and adaptability. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing all post-award administration duties for assigned departments. This will include the setup, monitoring, and closure of contracts and grants from various federal, state, local agencies, as well as private companies and foundations. You will be expected to maintain a comprehensive understanding of funding policies, regulations, and procedures to effectively administer awards. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in determining the allocability, allowability, reasonableness, and consistency of costs in accordance with award guidelines, providing invaluable guidance to departmental offices on post-award matters.

Education and Experience:

This position will be filled as Proposal and Award Generalist Intermediate or Advanced Professional, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typical requirements for an Intermediate level include an Associate degree or higher, plus two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. It is essential to possess knowledge of government regulations and University policies applicable to sponsored research. Additionally, being approved as an Authorized Organizational Representative with full signature authority would be highly advantageous. Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Word and Excel functions is a must, as is familiarity with grant reporting and budget functions within institutional programs like the Strategic Information Management System (SIMS) or similar tools. Experience in award management using the System for Integrated Management, Budgeting, and Accounting (SIMBA) is also highly preferred.

As this role requires handling diverse responsibilities, flexibility and strong self-management skills are crucial. You must be adept at prioritizing tasks and functioning both independently and collaboratively within a team. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effectively interacting with stakeholders. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to navigate challenging situations with professionalism and poise. Thriving in a deadline-driven environment, you must be able to multitask efficiently.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $81,500.00
