IOSCO Team Leader - International
Salary: National ranging from £57,600 to £70,000 and London from £63,300 to £77,000 per annum

The team/department
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is a regulatory body in the United Kingdom responsible for ensuring the integrity and stability of financial markets.
The International division is responsible for:
Helping to develop and deliver the international aspects of the FCA's emerging wholesale markets, and consumers and competition strategies
Leading on our relationships with overseas regulators, governments, and other stakeholders
Working to shape the global regulatory agenda and international policy, including through our membership of international standard setting bodies
Providing technical advice to the Government on financial services aspects of trade and access to UK markets and consumers, and specialist advice on engagement with global authorities and EU institutions
As a Lead Associate in the International Division, you will play a crucial role in maintaining strong relationships with the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO*) and other key global regulatory bodies. You will contribute to the effective supervision of financial markets and the implementation of international standards.
We are looking for a talented individual who can manage a close-knit team in complex, high-profile and fast-moving portfolios of work. Excellent organisational, communication, stakeholder management and people management skills will be essential.
*IOSCO is the international body that brings together the world's securities regulators and is recognised as the global standard setter for financial markets regulation.
What you will be doing (the role)
The role of the IOSCO team is to lead the development and delivery of the FCA’s engagement strategy with IOSCO, working closely with policy experts across the FCA.
Individual responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Lead the IOSCO Relationship Team - Manage the performance, development, and welfare for a small team of professionals responsible for engaging with IOSCO. This involves coordinating regulatory efforts and fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among team members, the wider division and organisation
Development and Delivery of IOSCO Strategy - Lead the IOSCO team to set out the FCA’s strategy for IOSCO, focused on identifying FCA priorities. Collaborate with teams across the FCA to ensure FCA priorities are reflective in international standards, and to support consistent implementation domestically
Stakeholder Management - Build and maintain strong relationships with IOSCO members, regulators, and industry stakeholders and internal FCA stakeholders to ensure appropriate engagement with and understanding of IOSCO work
Single point of expertise for IOSCO - Ensure adequate understanding of IOSCO developments across relevant parts of the organisation. Provide regular reports to senior management on IOSCO-related activities and developments. Support senior leaders at the FCA in IOSCO-related engagements

The skills and experience you will have
Minimum

Demonstrable experience in financial regulation with exposure to international standards and cooperation
Prior experience of people management
Experience of working with a range of stakeholders both internal and external
Essential
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate with clarity, simplicity, and impact
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with international counterparts at a senior level
Experience of working with international stakeholders or on global policy issues
Experience of developing and delivering strategic direction
Ability to communicate key messages effectively and explain complex issues clearly and concisely
Capability to use judgement to make logical and timely decisions
Able to effectively manage priorities, which may change at short notice
Willingness to learn, develop and take on new responsibilities, quickly filling gaps in your understanding and escalating matters when appropriate
